Participation Agreement – Akron Canton Builds Interactive Student Experience

Your district is invited to participate in the Fourth Annual Akron Canton Builds Interactive Student Experience — a hands-on event designed to connect students with real opportunities in the Union skilled trades.

Students in grades 9–12. Districts may select the group that best fits their goals. Examples include:

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Last year’s event brought together 15 Union Apprenticeship Training Centers and 35 contractors and suppliers, creating direct access to a wide range of skilled trades careers.

This event gives students a clear, practical look at pathways that lead directly into high-demand, high-paying careers.

HELP US MAXIMIZE THE EXPERIENCE FOR EVERY SCHOOL:
To give as many students as possible the opportunity to attend, we ask districts to provide their most accurate student count when registering.

Last year, a number of time slots were reserved based on estimates that ended up being significantly higher than actual attendance. That limited the ability for other schools to participate.
If your numbers change, please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust scheduling accordingly.

Event runs rain or shine (indoor and outdoor components)
Students should wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather
Safety eyewear will be provided where required

We understand that given the nature of this event, our district must send 1 adult chaperone for every 25 students.(Required)

We agree to send at least 1 participating adult chaperone to one of the informational breakfast or lunch tours of a training center. Those dates will be scheduled for two dates in September. Invitations will be sent out 45 days before the tours.(Required)
