This masonry trade is one of the oldest occupations and one of the most physically demanding. The masonry trade encompasses building interior and exterior architectural structures with such building products as brick, block, tile, terrazzo, stone and artificial stone. The masonry trade covers such crafts as bricklayer, stone mason, tile setter, tile helper, terrazzo mason and also covers tuck pointing, caulking and cleaning.
The masonry trade is one of the few trades in which the skilled individual takes the required product and builds a structure from the ground up. A skilled mason will be able to interpret blueprint drawings supplied by the Architect.
